The Charlotte Chess Center hosted the third Wednesday Action Quads of the new year on January 17, 2024 at the Main/South location. The tournament attracted 30 players across 7 sections, with a six-player Quad G. In a rarity, there was a clear first-place finisher in every quad.
NM Daniel Cremisi (2398 USCF) was back to take 3/3 in Quad A for the second week in a row. His rating is so high that even a perfect score in the top quad only gained him one USCF rating point.
Vihaan Purohit, Kyle Cameron, Druv Balamurugan, and Alyssa Cameron each finished on a perfect score in their respective quads as well, receiving over 60 USCF rating points apiece for their performances!
In Quad B, Matthew Khariouk vaulted to a new peak rating with 2.5/3, and Murari Raghavan took clear first with 2.5/3 in Quad E. Here are the winners from each of the seven quads:
Quad A: Daniel Cremisi (3 points)
Quad B: Matthew Khariouk (2.5 points)
Quad C: Vihaan Purohit (3 points)
Quad D: Kyle Cameron (3 points)
Quad E: Murari Raghavan (2.5 points)
Quad F: Druv Balamurugan (3 points)
Quad G (six players): Alyssa Cameron (3 points)
Congratulations to all quad winners, and we hope to see you at the next Wednesday Action Quads tournament on January 24!
