The CCCSA conducts weekly and monthly chess events such as weekly rated play, special events, lectures, classes, weekend tournaments.

The CCCSA is constantly making efforts to create partnerships with local and national educational programs to further the expansion of chess not only locally but nationally.

WEEKLY SCHEDULE

Monday

Tuesday

 Tournament Tips and Preparation Lecture

6:45pm - 7:30pm

Geared to players 1000+ USCF. Practical tournament tips and guidance will be given. Tuesday Night G/75 tournament play will take place right after, starting about 7:35pm. All USCF members encourage to participate in both the lecture and rated play. Lecture is open to both juniors and adults.

G/75 Rated Action

7:30pm - 10:30pm 

Tuesday Night Action gives players the chance to play USCF rated chess during the week. Every Tuesday one rated game will be played. After 5 weeks/rounds the tournament is submitted to the USCF to be rated. This is a great way for players to prepare and stay in shape for weekend tournament play. Prizes are now given in each section.

Adult Learner Series/Adult Casual Night

6:00pm - 7:30pm

Are you a late bloomer when it comes to chess? Have children or friends who play chess and want to understand what they are talking about? Join us for an adult only lecture series that will provide a guide to becoming a better chess player.

Friday

 

Friday Night Action Quads

7:00pm - 9:00pm

Friday Night Action Quads is a tournament primarily suited for students. Unlike Tuesday nights which feature primarily adults and students above the rating of 1000, the FAQ tournament is suitable for all skill levels.

 

 Students are placed into groups of 4 by their ratings. The event is 3 rounds as students play everyone in their group except themselves. The winner of each quad receives a medal.This is a US Chess rated tournament. 

 

 This event will be conducted every Friday (unless there is a large regional event or holiday)

Saturday's are tournament days. The Center is open when a tournament is being conducted. See schedule below for Saturday events.
