QUAD FORMAT

The CCC conducts a regular "quad" US Chess rated tournament open to all scholastic (K-12) players. Quads, which group students by their skill level, are a great way for students to get closer matchups for a more fun and competitive challenge.

HOW IT WORKS

• Players must register weekly and in advance 

• 3 rated games every Sunday afternoon 

  • Conveniently placed after Sunday classes!​

• Each event will be limited to the first 60 players to register 

• Entries are first registered, first served

• Quads are for students (K-12) only

FORMAT

Quads - Students are placed into groups of 4 by their most recent "live" US Chess regular rating to help ensure that students get close matchups.

Medal to winner of each quad

TIME CONTROL

G/25; Increment 5

US Chess Regular Rated

Each player receives 25 minutes plus a 5 second bonus each move to complete each game

CCC Members: $15.00

Non-Members: $20.00

• Students must be members of US Chess

  • US Chess is the governing body of chess in the US and conducts all of the rating calculations for players.

  • Need a US Chess Membership? Purchase through the CCC and save

• Must register weekly - first registered, first served

• Great for students playing their first rated games

• Best for players rated under 1500. Higher rated players see Tuesday Night Action and Wednesday Action Quads

• Quad players are not permitted to withdraw mid-event.  Forfeiters will not be able to enter future CCC events.

WITHDRAWALS/CONTACT

• Refund policy

  • $3 transaction fee until Saturday (one day before the event)

  • $5 transaction fee for same-day cancellations until 3:00pm

  • No refund for cancellations after 3:00pm
