The Charlotte Chess Center's Sunday Afternoon Classical took place at the CCC North location on Sunday January 21, 2024. The SAC is held at CCC's North Center every Sunday afternoon. Each player plays one standard-rated game per week, with 23 players making it for this Sunday's event to play the third round of the new year.
The following players won in round three:
Top: Sujan Maddipati, Matthew Sedlock, Gregory Foster, and Kyle Barry
U1300: Anjali Clapp, Harshal Dadi, Alexander Aceituno, Harsith Haris, Gavin Burton, and Shrinika Musuluri (with Axiao Yao also receiving a full-point bye)
With Yeider Villa's loss in the top section, there is no player on 3/3 in the Top section, and Axiao Yao is the only remaining player on 3/3 in the U1300 section.
