OVERVIEW

SAC offers one US Chess and FIDE-rated game every Sunday afternoon, completely free for CCC members. This is a great way for players to get weekly rated practice.

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Participants must be US Chess members.

  • Participants must be CCC Members.

  • Players in grades K-8 must be rated over 800.

  • Online registration only. Each registration is only for the next round.

  • Registration closes 30 minutes prior to round 1 if not already full.


SECTIONS AND TIME CONTROL 

Top: G/80, inc/10 - US Chess and FIDE Rated


Under 1500: G/60, inc/10 - US Chess and FIDE Rated


Under 1200: G/45, inc/10 - US Chess and FIDE Rapid Rated


No playing up.



MONTHLY PRIZES

  • The top adult (18 or older) in each section wins a $25 gift card to USCF Sales.

  • The top junior (under 18) in each section wins a $25 gift card to USCF Sales.

  • All perfect scores (must play all games) will receive a 3-month CCC membership extension.

  • See special notes below for tiebreak rules.

REGISTER
  • Event is FIDE-rated. FIDE rules apply, except for US Chess penalties for cell phone infractions.

  • Players who no-show forfeit without notice may not be permitted to play in future events.

  • TDs will accelerate pairings to pair players close in rating when possible.

  • Most recent "live" US Chess regular ratings used for all sections to ensure close matchups.

  • SAC is a monthly tournament - the rating report is submitted on the last Sunday of the month, and a new event begins on the first Sunday of each month. SAC may be 4 or 5 rounds depending on the month.

  • All equipment provided.

  • Prizes are not split - they will be awarded based on tiebreaks:

    • Most games played

    • Lower rating
