OVERVIEW
A three round US Chess-rated tournament open to all scholastic (K-12) players. Quads, which group students in sections of 4 by their rating level, are a great way for students to get closer matchups for a more fun and competitive challenge.
FAQ is a qualifier event to the Tournament of Champions on May 4.

REGISTRATION
Limited to first 62 to register. Registration must be completed online ahead of the event.
REQUIREMENTS
Ages 17 and under
Participants must be members of the US Chess Federation
US Chess is the governing body of chess in the US and conducts all of the rating calculations for players. Need a US Chess Membership? Purchase through the CCC and save!

Round 1: 7:00pm

HOW IT WORKS
Players must register weekly and in advance
3 US Chess regular and quick rated games every Friday night
Quad format - students placed into groups of 4 by their most current "live" US Chess regular rating to ensure closer matchups.
Each evening will be limited to the first 62 players to register
Entries are first registered, first served
Quads are for students (K-12) only

TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS
Players that earn a 3-0 score in their quad qualify to the Tournament of Champions on May 4.
TIME CONTROL
G/20; Increment 10
Each player receives 20 minutes plus a 10 second bonus each move to complete each game
ENTRY FEE
Players currently rated 1200+: FREE Entry (see special notes for details)
CCC Members: $17.50
Non-Members: $22.50

Quad players are not permitted to withdraw mid-event. Forfeiters will not be able to enter future CCC events.
Tournament of Champions Qualification
Only students who finish 3-0 in their quad qualify
Separate registration for the Tournament of Champions required
Free Entry Policy
Free entry is offered to players who have a current live USCF rating of 1200+. No exceptions.
To take advantage of free entry, register online by the day before the event (Thursday evening).
If you register for free but must cancel, email us to withdraw by 6:00pm - 1 hour before game.
Refund policy
$3 transaction fee until Thursday (one day before the event)
$5 transaction fee for same-day cancellations until 6:00pm
No refund for cancellations after 6:00pm
