The CCCSA conducts a regular "quad" US Chess rated tournament open to all scholastic (K-12) players. Quads, which group students by their skill level, are a great way for students to get closer matchups for a more fun and competitive challenge.

  • The Chess Center and all chess equipment will be disinfected and thoroughly cleaned several times daily

  • Hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipe stations will be placed throughout the chess center

Effective June 21, 2021

Masks and temperature checks will not be required. Participants may wear a mask if they choose to.

On May 14, North Carolina dropped most capacity restrictions, social distancing measures, and mask mandates for businesses. We wanted to give our members a chance to get acquainted with those changes. We now feel as though the mask requirement at the CCCSA is no longer needed.

See Governor Cooper's Executive Order 215 for more details.

  • Players must register weekly and in advance

  • 3 rated games every Friday night!

  • Each evening will be limited to the first 36 players to register

  • Entries are first registered, first served

  • Quads are for students (K-12) only
