Ray is a dedicated chess coach born in New York City, where he was taught by his father at age 5. With over 10 years of coaching experience, Ray is known for his aggressive attacking style, which he uses in his coaching to inspire students to adopt a bold approach to the game. His fun nature and sense of humor create a relaxed and enjoyable learning environment, making chess not just a game but a delightful experience.


In addition to his work in chess, Ray is actively involved in sports as he plays and coaches multiple slow pitch softball teams. This experience enriches his coaching philosophy, as he draws parallels between teamwork and strategy in both chess and softball.
