CARLENE PYNE

Carlene is originally from Boston, MA and moved to Charlotte three years ago. When she was five years old, her father brought home a chess set. They started playing mini family tournaments. Carlene also played chess all through school. When she was in college, she focused on studying, earning a bachelor’s degree in economics from Boston University and then an MBA with a concentration in Accounting from Western New England College. (nicknamed the radio station WNEC). Carlene currently works as a Licensed Customs House Broker (clearing freight through US Customs). She did not play seriously again until two years ago when she saw that Charlotte had a chess center.
