Director of HR

Amanda Dotter, MBA, SPHR, serves as the Director of Human Resources at the Charlotte Chess Center, where she leads people operations, organizational development, and employee experience initiatives.


Her expertise spans talent acquisition, employee relations, leadership development, compliance, and culture strategy. She is particularly skilled at designing scalable HR infrastructure and aligning people systems with organizational growth and mission impact.


Amanda holds an MBA in Human Resources from Winthrop University and is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), Six Sigma Black Belt, and Enneagram Coach. She also serves as an adjunct professor in the College of Business at Winthrop University, where she enjoys teaching and mentoring future business leaders.


A lifelong learner, Amanda was introduced to chess as a child and values the discipline and critical thinking it fosters in students today. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and four children. She also enjoys beekeeping, gardening, raising chickens and ducks, animal rescue, and trips to the mountains and the lake.
