SAQ 2/25: Eleven Quads, Eight Perfect Scores

On February 25, 2024, the Charlotte Chess Center hosted the final Sunday Action Quads of February at the Main/South location. SAQ is a weekly scholastic quad event open to all players K-12. This iteration featured a total of 45 players across eleven quads, including a five player "Small Swiss."

The following players finished in first place in their respective quads:

Quad A: Tamaghna Roy (2.5 points)

Quad B: Michael Lu (3 points)

Quad C: Daniel Wojszczyk (3 points)

Quad D: Reyansh Mayank (3 points)

Quad E: Riaan Patel (2.5 points)

Quad F: Evan Chen (3 points)

Quad G: Benjamin Maniotis and Saket Kumbhar (2 points)

Quad H: Sahith Vattikuti (3 points)

Quad I: Jordan Augustine (3 points)

Quad J: Srehit Dhiman (3 points)

Small Swiss: George Opiela (3 points)

I don't remember the last time I saw eight 3/3 scores in a quad event run by the CCC! Don't forget that all perfect scorers in grades K-8 are qualified for the NEW Tournament of Champions event, scheduled for May 4, 2024.

We hope to see you at the next Sunday Action Quads tournament on March 3!
