The Charlotte Chess Center invites collegiate chess teams from universities, colleges, community colleges, and technical colleges from North America, South America, Central America, and the Caribbean to participate in the 2019 Pan-American Intercollegiate Team Chess Championship.

Byes/Withdrawals:

Half point byes are not permitted, only zero point byes. 

Withdrawals must be submitted to the tournament director at least two hours before the next round. 

Teams not withdrawing properly or in time may be fined $100

  • The top four teams will qualify for the 2020 Final Four of College Chess Championship

  • Plaques to top ten teams

  • Plaques to top Division II (2000-2199), Division III (1800-1999), Division IV (1600-1799), Division V (1400-1599) teams

  • Plaque to top International Team

  • Plaque to top Community College

  • Plaque to top Mixed Doubles Team (2 male/2 female)

  • Plaque to top four-year small college team (<5000 enrollment)

  • Plaque to top all-female team

  • Special prizes to top team upset in all 6 rounds

  • Gold, Silver, Bronze board medals for top Board 1, Board 2, Board 3, Board 4, Alternate

Entry Fee:

$225/per team if paid by December 1, 2019

$275/per team if paid after December 1, 2019

Entry Fee for each team shall be paid together – do not pay as separate teammates

No refunds for withdrawn teams once registration closes, December 27, 2:00pm

Teams are not considered registered and will not be paired until the entry fee is paid

Special Notes:

ALL RULES AND REGULATIONS 

Each player must individually fill out the Student Eligibility Form and submit it to: PanAmEligibility@gmail.com by December 23. 

 

Bring the original copy to the event.  This must be signed and stamped by the University Registrar and is required for any player to enter the event.

Note from Hotel: 

The person occupying the rooms must present a valid form of payment in the person who is occupying the rooms name as well as a valid form of identification.  We would also need to know who the hotel should contact if there were any issues to arise with one of the attendees under the age of 21.

 

If the person checking into the hotel does not have a credit card in their name and someone else is paying for the room, a credit card authorization form must be completed before arrival and the authorization form must have the name of the guest who is going to be in the room, the confirmation number, the signature and a copy of the front and the back of the card.
