OVERVIEW

The Rated Team Championship will host up to 150 elementary and middle school players in a US Chess rated competition.  There are both individual and team awards. Students are not required to be part of a team to play.

ELIGIBILITY

• The Rated Team Championship is open to all players in grades K-8.  

• This is a US Chess rated event - an active US Chess membership is required.

• It is not required to be part of a school chess program, club, or team to play.

SECTIONS

Grades K-2

Grades 3-5

Grades 6-8

FORMAT

• 4 rounds (games)

• No eliminations – all players will play 4 rounds

• Time “Control” – G/25, inc/5 – 25 minutes per player per game, with a 5 second increment per move

• Top 4 scorers from same school make the team score within each section

Lunch Break: until 1:00pm

Awards Ceremony: 3:45pm

ENTRY FEE

CCC members and students in CCC school programs*: $40.00

Non-members: $50.00

*coupon code for those in school programs sent in schools newsletter.

STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS

The CCC is looking for volunteers to help with scorekeeping and setup/breakdown (no experience necessary, can be parents).
