OVERVIEW
The 2024 NC Open K-8 Scholastic is a 5 round K-8 tournament held alongside the NC Open and US Masters. It is open to all players aged 13 or younger with a rating under 700 (or unrated).

ELIGIBILITY
K-8 players only (age 13 and under)
Players must be unrated or rated under 700 based on the November 2024 US Chess rating supplement.

Round 4: 2:00pm
Round 5: 3:00pm
Awards: 4:00pm
TIME CONTROL
G/20, inc/10
Each player begins with 20 minutes and receives a 10 second bonus per move.

Trophies to top 10, based on US Chess standard tiebreaks

No Spectator Policy: Parents and spectators are not permitted in the playing area and immediate halls.
Byes:
Up to 2 optional half-point byes which must be requested at least 1 hour before round one begins.
All byes requested after the the start of round one are zero-point byes.
Withdrawals/Refunds:
$5 transaction fee for cancellations until November 27.
50% refunds after November 27 until 1 hour before round 1
All withdrawals during the event must be submitted at least 1 hour before the round.
US Chess rated - current US Chess membership is required.
Boards, sets, clocks provided (must use our equipment)
November US Chess regular ratings used for pairings and prizes.
By registering for or attending this event, players and guests grant permission to CCC to take and use photographs and video for purposes related to the event.
