SASMITA MOHANTY

Sasmita Mohanty is a passionate chess player, born and raised in Odisha, India. She learned Chess from her father and started playing chess tournaments at the age of 10 years. She then became India’s National Women Player. 

Due to her studies and busy in graduate and Masters certification in Computer Applications. She worked as a Software Engineer for around 10 years. She decided to move to the USA in 2018 and decided to continue her chess journey. Currently her peak rating in the US is 1707. She is currently playing Chess in all Major Tournaments in the US and is also thrilled to share her Chess Knowledge among chess players."

She currently lives in Charlotte with her husband and son.
