OVERVIEW

School may be closed, but the learning doesn’t stop! The Charlotte Chess Center’s Election Day Camp offers a fun and educational full-day experience at both our South Charlotte and North Charlotte locations.


Open to students in grades K–8, the camp blends chess lessons, rated play, and group activities with plenty of time for fun. Whether your child is new to tournaments or already a seasoned player, they’ll enjoy improving their skills, making friends, and playing in a supportive environment.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Students must know the basic rules of chess

  • Ideal for grades K-8



FORMAT

  • Rated and unrated students welcome

  • Students will be placed into groups based on their ability

  • Students will play two rated games

    • Students without a rating will earn one during camp*

    • Students without US Chess ID will be given one


*If the instructor believes a student is not yet ready for rated play, student have more practice and instruction during this time.



INSTRUCTION

CCC camps are taught in-person by our highly trained and experienced staff. The CCC has the most qualified instructors in all of the United States.



LUNCH/SNACK

Students should pack their own lunch and snack.



TUITION

CCC Members + School Program Students: $65

Non-Members: Add $10 to each option above.


Those in CCC school programs, who are not CCC members, should select the membership option "No, but my child attends chess at their school through the CCC's enrichment program." to receive the member discount.
