EMPOWERING THROUGH CHESS

The Charlotte Chess Center & Scholastic Academy, founded in March of 2014, serves to provide chess players of all ages and skill levels the necessary resources to both learn and play.

WHY CHESS?

Chess can assist in the enhancement of life skills and brain development. There are many benefits to playing chess which include: improved reading and writing skills, improved creativity, increased problem solving ability and enhanced planning and foresight ability.

GM DANIEL NARODITSKY

The CCCSA is pleased to annouce that Grandmaster (GM) Daniel Naroditsky will be relocating to Charlotte to serve as head coach for the Charlotte Chess Center.

GM Naroditsky will conduct lectures and classes for all rating levels and will visit a few of our flagship competitive school programs.

GM Narotisky will also be available for private lessons.

CHESS CLUB OF THE YEAR

The Charlotte Chess Center is pleased to announce that it has won the United States Chess Federation's award of "Chess Club of the Year"

In 2018, Charlotte won the designation of "Chess City of the Year" primarily due to the efforts of the Center.

The 2020 Charlotte Open will take place January 1-5, 2020 in Charlotte, NC.
