The CCCSA conducts weekly and monthly chess events such as weekly rated play, special events, lectures, classes, weekend tournaments.

The CCCSA is constantly making efforts to create partnerships with local and national educational programs to further the expansion of chess not only locally but nationally.

K-12 CHAMPIONSHIP

The Charlotte Chess Center K-12 Chess Championship is a first year event. The event features 40+ Individual awards as well as 15+ team awards!

Players may register ahead of time using the form below.

Requirements:

Participants must be members of the US Chess Federation

Participants must be in Grades PK - 12

 

Time Control:

G/45; delay 5

Each player receives 45 minutes plus a 5 second delay each move to complete each game. 

 

Round Times:

Round 1: 9:30am

Round 2: 11:15am

Pizza Break 12:30pm-1:00pm

Round 3: 1:00pm

Round 4: 2:45pm

Approximate Awards Time: 4:00pm

Byes:

Can't make it to all of the rounds? You may take a (1)half point bye in any round

1/2 point byes must be requested before the the tournaments starts.

Byes allow a player to skip a round they can not otherwise attend.
